a) CSR Survey
To be launched at the 2008 International Conference, the CSR survey is the result of a partnership among the Ethos Institute, Akatu and Ibope, and aims to assess the corporate social responsibility movement on a nationwide scale, focusing on predetermined sectors of the economy, on the Ethos Institute’s associates and on companies in general, according to their size (small, medium-sized, large). It is expected that the survey identifies the levels of engagement of Brazilian companies with the CSR movement.
b) Meetings of the Ethos Institute with Associated Companies A schedule of meetings of the Ethos’s executive board and team with associates throughout Brazil. These meetings will last one day and will allow experience sharing with the associates in several Brazilian states in an open and creative environment. Participants will be invited to share their experiences, projects, dilemmas and initiatives of the last ten years, which will enable Ethos to learn about and share regional advances. These meetings will form part of a set of activities that intend to show mutual impacts made between Ethos and its stakeholders, so that a more accurate diagnosis can be made of assertive and strategic attitudes for the next ten years.
c) Meetings with CEOs Schedule of meetings of the Ethos Institute with CEOs to assess the results the organization achieved from the strategies and directions followed in the last ten years, which will help define the organization’s steps for the next ten years. These meetings will be held on two occasions. The first one will be during the International Conference and will discuss strategies for a socially responsible market, aiming to gather proposals that will form part of the movement’s action lines for the next ten years.
The second occasion will be a meeting of the Ethos Institute with the CEOs of the 500 largest companies in Brazil, to be held in partnership with the Special Secretariat for Human Rights (SEHD) of the Presidency of the Republic. The discussion will focus on challenges posed to the CEOs of major Brazilian companies and proposals to meet them to ensure human rights reach the same level as the Brazilian economic development.
d) Exhibition on the Contribution of the Ethos Institute to the 10 Years of the CSR Movement in Brazil The exhibition intends to show the visitor the path followed by the Ethos Institute since its creation – 10 years ago – and the contribution the organization has made to the corporate social responsibility movement in Brazil and abroad. The content of the exhibition will be based on a parallel between the actions carried out by Ethos and its partners and the events and situations that caused these actions. The show will make use of visual aids (photographs, texts, illustrations and charts) representing the most significant initiatives of the CSR movement to help companies, the market, the society and the planet to face their challenges.
e) Celebrating 10 years of the Ethos Institute
The tenth anniversary of the Ethos Institute will be celebrated with a cocktail during the 2008 IC. All Conference participants will be invited, totaling around 1,600 people. The celebration will present a cultural attraction yet to be defined.
The Ethos’ 10th Anniversary Project was developed to highlight the Ethos Institute’s performance in the CSR movement in Brazil and abroad. It seeks to reflect on this cycle of challenges faced and successes achieved by the organization and its stakeholders. This reflection will allow outlining a new cycle based on the prospects for the next ten years and focused on the results the Ethos Institute has achieved since its foundation, allowing one-off actions that will move partnerships to a higher performance level.
