THE EVENT

On its ninth edition, the International Conference 2007 – Business and Social Responsibility is promoted by Ethos Institute of Business and Social Responsibility, organized by UniEthos – Education for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, in partnership with Akatu Institute for Conscious Consumption, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Brazil and the United Nations Global Compact.

THE THEME

THE CORPORATIONS'COMMITMENT FOR A SUSTAINABLE AND JUST SOCIETY.

The brutal environmental degradation, the extreme social inequality, the growing lack of confidence in organizations, and the devastating effects of global warming are components of the unsustainability of our societies. The responsibility lies with us. It is imperative that the whole society, in particular companies, contribute to revert this condition, at the risk of annihilating all the possibilities of human life on the planet.

We have resources, technology and knowledge, in order to suggest new development models to promote social justice and environmental balance. However, we still need to bring together a collective will for change.

The decision for sustainable development is an ethical choice, anchored in the commitment to integrity, transparency in the dissemination of fundamental values for the construction of a more just world that respects differences, values diversity and allows us to coexist in a generous way, leaving a more balanced world for future generations.
